| Our aims & the castle | ||||

We endeavor to bring people together providentiallly. Enjoy your sojourn in our castle of the 15th century with vineyard, hotel, restaurant, wellness and gallery. Even in winter time our castle offers a cosy holiday, for we heat in an ecologically reasonable way by the waste warmth of a biogas plant. We meet the needs of the power requirement by our photovoltaic plant. You see, many things have changed in comparison to former times, when castles were still considered to be cold and uncomfortable. But the old romanticism of the castle survived and really flourishes by our dedication and by our guests. The former moated castle was already built in 1498 by the diocese of Würzburg. In 1663 it passed to the supreme knight of Franconia, before it went over to our family by the earls of Schönborn. The family Wörner since 1866 is closely linked to the Renaissance château. |

The cuisine
offers Mediterranean light food, as well as typical Franconian
delicacies. The cook of our house attaches great importance to
freshly prepared dishes. Already from 2 persons onwards you may experience attractive events concerning the theme „Wine and culinary specialties“. Together with the offered menus you will rather like to taste some noble wine and sparkling wine of our vineyard. The restaurant presents ca. 30 places, as well as a wine & beer garden in the romantic palace courtyard. For events like conventions and family celebrations we also provide optimal premises. |

Our cosy hotel is
directly situated near the nature park Steigerwald. Just
recreate in our house at any season. Whilst you are still dreaming the ancestress and the birds are saying welcome to the new day, they already prepare for you a vigorous landlord’s breakfast in the former chambers of the ladies. It will be served to you directly at the table and is enriched with a muesli and fruit counter. The atmosphere and the medieval architecture together with delicacies, will make you forget all sorrows. After an eventful day you may relax in the sauna and wellness area, before you let fade away the day in the restaurant with its defence tower, with wine, sparkling wine and culinary delicacies. Sufficient roofed parking spaces are provided. |

Primordial romanticism of the castle and contemporary requirements are combined in individually furnished chambers (only non-smoking rooms), that are located on the ground floor as well as in the attic storey.
Which one of the comfortable chambers will be your dream, it’s
up to you to choose. Abigail chamber, ancestral suite, landlord’s chamber, sewing room remind almost forgotten times, when the sovereignty still used to travel with her retainers. The treasure chest (1) owes its name to an iron chest, that was carried together with the dowry over mountains and valleys. In the granary with waterbed you’ll feel as if you were carried by thousand hands. Just forget your daily grind and feel even better than at home. |

The Renaissance
garden, the restaurant and the adjacent premises afford an
optimal ambience for small and large occasions. Whether anniversaries, weddings, family gatherings, conventions or corporate events - at Wörner’s castle all that is possible. Just express your wishes and your event will become an unforgettable experience. At any season the family Wörner delights her guests with individual ideas. Wine events, carriage rides, guided walking tours, night guard guidances, painting courses and many other things care for a varied delay. As eating and drinking keep together "body & soul", as agreed, besides the Franconian specialities we’ll also offer you other culinary compositions. |

Wellness for us
does not only mean to relax in the sauna area with Finnish sauna
with timber beams, vapour-bath and infrared cabin, recreation
with massages and baths, well-being with the appropriate
cosmetics for Her and Him…. In accordance with the culinary
delicacies and wine benefit „wellness“ becomes a particular
experience. Also your healthy sleep in tenderly furnished rooms
lies at our heart Just take a break from everyday life… For sports
fans there are at disposal bicycles. The surrounding area is
ideal for hiking, jogging or nordic walking. In the proximity
there are fitness centers with tennis, bowling, skittles, golf
courses and much else. |

In the vineyard
of Wörner’s castle Harald Wörner (Dipl. Ing. FH of enology) is
responsible for vineyard, cellar and thus obviously for the
final product, our wines, sparkling wines, vinegar .... The vineyard areas of our wine-grower family strike by a continous planting. We are working in close touch with nature and have implemented at about a quarter of the vineyards with black grapes. In the eldest vineyard there are prospering Silvaner vines, of which we are particularly proud. In the treasure chamber there are stored wines of all vintages from 1975 on, the first wine of Albrecht Wörner, who in 1973 planted the first vines. In the year 2002 I began to present our wines and sparkling wines also to the international wine jury. Since then we rejoice at international wine honourings or the denomination as „Best producer of sparkling wines of Germany“. |

The love for the
wine begins at the vine and pervades each single drop up to the
consumption. To love and to live nature, that’s the basic
requirement for a noble wine. So I appreciate the positive
forces of nature and respect, for all upcoming works, the
cosmobiology (science of the external influences, e.g. of the
moon on nature). This applies to the quality-conscious works in the vineyard (pruning, low drawing, leaves work, thinning, defoliation up to the vintage) as well as to the procedures in the cellar. My philosophy relies on the the love of tradition, and so I spend much time with my wines: “Rome wasn’t built in a day”. I also am enthused by the Barrique – my experience in the interplay of the wines with the wood is guarantor for special delights to the palate. The innovation „Vino Rosallica – experience of wine with wild roses” shows the delight in wine in correspondance with wild roses. |

In the former
treshing floor, on an area of ca. 180 qm, a special store
invites you to stay. Rather many a person would like directly to
"pitch up his tent" here – as cosy as it is furnished. Besides antique furniture you find artisan art of the region, made by ceramics, wax, paper, glass, iron, basket or wood as well as delicacies of local fruit and roses. Silk floristry, aloe vera products and much else complete the assortment.
